Oh yes mate! I know just where you are coming from!
It was around this time last year that they were doing my head in,as they are this year,I posted on here and (I think it was BillMC,sozzz if I got that wrong) who pointed me at these,
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Executioner ... B000MU2MJA

Very satisfying in use.
Arrived a little late for last year, earned it's cost this year.
And a few squiddleys less in cost, gonna buy me another.

If you're serious about fermenting and distilling you need something to keep flying insects out of your work. I use one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Voltage-Electri ... iller+lamp
Worth every penny and no faffing around running after the little bastards trying to swat them and wrecking other things in the process :D

I have used a similar item for the last number of years, aimed mostly at the midgies, but happy for any flying thing it zaps, excluding the odd magnificent moth that it occasionally slowly scorches to death;-body mass/energy thing going on there.
I have found that some flying things are just not tempted by UV light.
Mutants? Space Aliens?
I,personally find the ability to chase the buggers with a certain death racket,a solace in such circumstances.
Actually,I think it was John51 recommended this.
If I mention enough user names,I will eventually get there!
