Adding Flavour - wanting to make Apple Schnapps

My Question is, when to comes to Flavoring the final stage after filtering. Can I use real apple juice from the supermarket to water down the spirit , instead of using water at first to drop the content of alcohol from 60% to 25% ?

Mind you I don't quite know the ratios for watering down , is there a chart? for 700ml bottles.

as the instruction say 4L of wash creates 800ml of Alcohol @60% as i understand adding 400ml of water, waters it down to 40% .I wanted to get
1.4L @ 25% what amount of spirit do i need and how much water do i need to add to bring it too 25% ?

1.4L X 60 / 25 - 1.4L = 1.96L. Hope I have made it clear. Should be measured at 20 degrees also.

Adding apple juice at this stage is not going to give you an apple schnapps.

The instructions that come with that still are terrible. Read this:

For proper Apple schnapps, you need to ferment the apple juice. Following the instructions at the link above, you could use apple juice to dilute the low wines prior to the spirit run. I don't know what the result will be, but I am pretty sure it will be better than adding vodka to apple juice!

There was a guy on Moonshiners added apple juice to his shine and he called it apple pie. He also added a whole cinnamon stick to each 1 litre jar.

I gave up using the amazingstill before I got to try this but the basic recipe was 4L of 40% neutral + 4L of Non Preservative fruit juice. Allegedly gave a very nice Schnapps.

With an air still I'd try 2L of your very best 40% neutral (double or triple distilled) + 2L of Non Preservative fruit juice run at a very low power, say 120w and be patient.

Personally, I'd just get a litre of the concentrate flavouring for making liqueurs from Brouwland.......

You can add it directly to 40% spirit until it tastes right. I managed to get some tasting like Apfelkorn and I reckon it was over 30% and not the 22% that its sold at on the Harwich/Hook ferry......

"but I was very, very, drunk" :D

You can simply take 40% neutral in a jar 3/4 full of apple pieces and give it the nuke treatment, microwave it up to 70 degrees c put a lid on it and let it cool. As it cools it pulls a vacuum pulling the apple flavour out, repeat a further 2 times and add sugar syrup to taste, did this with peaches, kiwis works a treat ;D
