I'm on my third batch of Odins Easy Gin. His quantities and cuts are spot on. Follow them and all will be well.

The agreed change to the original recipe is to macerate the ingredients for 24 hours and then throw all of the ingredients EXCEPT THE PEEL into the boiler.

I left just a little bit of peel in the boiler the first time and it gave a slightly stewed orange note into the gin. Tried it the second and third time with just the juniper and coriander in the still.

Flipping nectar ! Too good for tonic! O0

I might give that a try next batch Mr 4Sq - I macerated the last lot for a fortnight which was a bit of a wait!

Tell me, did it last the five week maturation period?!

Cheers

Yes it did last the full 5. A few sips along the way confirmed that it was improving and the wait was going to be worth it.

And now by following the 24 hour maceration method you have 2 weeks less to wait !
