Tesco yeast 'vs' Allinsons

Just made up my first kale wash, went to the cupboard to get the yeast and realise I have most likely wasted it on something silly like bread... I have found some still in date 'Tesco fast acting dried yeast' is this just as good as Allinsons or is it better to pop in to town to get Allinsons, is there a difference, you lot only seem to talk about Allinsons so I figured there must be a good reason?

I have a sachet of '247 Homebrew Super Yeast' 10g also?

Allinson's is good to be sure.
I am currently trialing 'saf levure' bread yeast. Bought from Amazon.
It seems a little slower, but seems to fernent out OK.
I am still waiting on the taste.

IMHO any yeast is better than no yeast

Went in to town and bought some Allinsons.
I have the wash fermenting in my bedroom as it's the warmest room, holly jebus it stinks... as you walk past you can smell the guff... missus is well happy.
Today I bought a fish tank heater as I am now being forced to get that stinky crap out of here, you would have thought at this time of the year she would be tollerant but no.

It's not very frothy, is that ok (18.5-21C)
I'll set the aqaurium heater at 30 as suggested so it might froth a bit more then.

Allinson's does seem happier nearer 30°C.
It may be worth checking your heater with a thermometer, they are not always as accurate as stated on the box.
Watch out for the Yeast Monster climbing out of the bucket when it gets warm.....
I don't see your good ladies' problem with a smelly brew in the bedroom, maybe she doesn't love you anymore?

Robert, she will get over it I'm sure when I can buy her love back with some nice spirit, she is lucky, thats how I see it, not sure thats how she see's it...

I have set the aquarium heater to 28 for now to let the fermenter settle down, will adjust tomorrow, hope the yeast monster stays well hidden as her in doors will shit bricks if the fermenter overflows, it's on my side of the bed so it's all my stuff but that wont matter, she's like the Hulk when she gets angry but not as good looking.

How clear does the wash need to be, the first batch of turbo48 is reasonable, a bit like weak cordial, is that ok to run or should I wait further, it's been outside for a couple of days and in a cold shed for another?

In an ideal world you wait until you can see the sludge on the bottom from the top.
In mine, if I can see it with a torch it is close enough!
Just don't forget your boil pieces to prevent a puke or boilover.
