Hops infused gin
Whilst on holiday in Majorca this year I was eating at this restaurant https://www.brutrestaurante.com/ and had the best meal of my life. 10 course taster menu that was made by some crazy genius Argentinian chef. They made everything themselves, brewed their own beer, made wine, even roasted their own coffee beans. Anyway, at the end of the meal I tried a gin they had infused with hops. It had quite a bitter taste, but was really refreshing and delicious and had a lovely golden colour We ended up having a lock in with the chefs and a couple of their friends and got to try all his alcoholic creations (his capers liqueur was a bit weird!) while I chatted to him about my own gin making escapades and I promised him I would return next year with a bottle for him.
Anyway, I resolved to try and make my own hops infused gin so I got in touch with them and got the recipe. 10g of citra hops for 1 litre of gin, shaken and left for no longer than a week.
Picked up the hops a couple of days ago, just finished a wash and will make some next week!
I'll let you know how it goes.
