I only use glass or stainless steel so I'll never find out if it's safe or not.

Just wondered as I was thinking about fashioning a funnel out of a unused hdpe milk type bottle.
I was thinking,
Cut the bottom off,
Invert said bottle,
Use a bored demijohn cork with a short length if symphony tube
To my EZ inline filter which would then feed into a demijohn below.
This should probably now be in the filtering section but wanted to know about the hdpe first.

Just so we're clear, I'm not saying it's not safe but I don't know anything about the chemistry and reactive properties of various types and grades of plastics. However, if a reputable manufacturer produces a product, like the Essencia Filter System, that they say is specifically designed for Ethanol up to 55% then I will accept that product as being safe for the intended purpose. ;)
