hello all---and can you recommend some books?
Hi,
I\'m brand new to the froum (and distilling, brewing, winemaking etc). My wife and I plan to stop working and try something similiar to \"The Good Life\". being able to make our own wine, beer and spirits will be a huge cost saver (and a likely good use for any surplus crops we have). I was hoping that some of you experienced guys (and gals?) could recommend any books on these subjects for the complete novice? Please assume I know absolutely nothing on any of these subjects so they would need to provide simple step-by-step instructions, explain the terminology and make it clear exactly what I need to buy to get going.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I think (apart from this forum) my best link would be to Artisan Distiller There is a lot of info on their but with a nice friendly forum.
If you follow the link from the artisan home page entitled \"If you saw a show about moonshine\" it will walk you through what to do.
I started with a super reflux unit. Not as easy as an airstill but follow the instructions and you can get some simply amazing output. I have a T500 as well now but my SS reflux is still in regular use.

Thanks for the help, guys.
Aidanmac - I will try the Airstill on your recommendation (I was going to go straight for the T500, but I think you are right and I should make all my mistakes on a smaller scale!)
MrCat - Great shout on that link, exactly what a novice like me needs.
