e-cigs/vapes

Being a heavy smoker, I wasn't looking forward to the abstinence when running a reflux. No problem with the airstill of course.

A lung infection pretty much forced me to give up the baccy so I got myself a couple of e-cigs.

No problem at all using it while running my T-500. :)

Day 28 of not smoking and now I prefer the vape to smoking (no longer miss the baccy) but it did take some trials of eliquids to find one that I liked.

I am happy to hear that it was only a lung infection, not something worse. Congrats on kicking smoking! It is a hard one, I know.

Pack it up altogether mate.I've been a non smoker now for 6 months after being a heavy smoker for 30+ years. If I knew how easy it was to pack up I would have done it years ago.

Took me 40 years to get off those horrible things, Congrats John51, seriously ;)

I ended up with much worse than a lung infection so I always applaud those who kick those awful things and now you can look forward to a more tasty future ;D

I quite like my e-cig. Pillbox 38 brand menthol, 18mg nicotine, hits the spot just right for me. Yes maybe some dangers but nowhere near that of baccy. ok I've swapped one addiction for another but look at Alan Carr. He quit smoking using hypnosis and spent the rest of his life talking and writing about smoking. :)

I did manage to stop twice last year by using Tabex but the crunch time for me was when around smokers, I'd cadge one and the slippery slope happened. Lasted less than 2 months each time.

I was at my brothers the other night, baccy pouches and Rizlas on the table but no temptation for me, didn't even cross my mind. Drinking doesn't get me tempted either.

In time, I can see me coming off the e-cig as daily usage is dropping slowly but surely. One advantage of it compared to cold turkey is no increase in appetite.

If any smokers are reading this and you want to quit, give the e-cigs a try. You might 'waste' some money finding the right combination of e-cig and eliquid to suit you but once sorted, you'll be free of the tar, formaldehyde and other non nicotine nasties that smoking puts in your lungs.

Too bad we couldn't get together for a chat. I think I would find it interesting and informative. Plus I cant type with more than 2 fingers.

I was at around 5 packs a day until 2 years ago. Cigarets here were only about US 0.27 a pack for the brand I smoked. Then I got a problem with my big toe. Went to 15 different doctors here in China with no results so went to Hong Kong. Also with no results. But you can only take 19 cigarets into HK and they are as expensive as hell to buy there - so I quit. Cold turkey. No problem. It can be done
