I sent it back to the brew shop so he can take a look at it. I will let everyone know what he finds out.

Only problems i ever had like that was when mine be running all smoothly. had 6 jars & then stoped it. Was very tired. Whent to start it back up next day & was not coming up to temp at the top unless i cut down the outlet a lot. Due to i think the alcohol was gone to be converted. But that being said. 6 jars or 190 proof is not bad on a single run. Best i ever had so far

The fact that my wash is coming out of the water outlet is what has me worried..if you look at the pictures I posted on the bottom of the copper coil you can see the nozzle where the water comes out and an additional hole. Idk if that hole is supposed to be there or not.

I finally just looked at mine and there is only one hole on your second picture for the outflow. On yours i noticed one going back out into the column inside part. That not right at all. Sorry for your troubles but hope you get it all straighten out soon. Not bad peace of hardware to have at all.

I started with a t500 and I love it, makes great consistent 93% neutral and very easy to operate. The one thing that everyone struggles with is the water flow temperature. What you need to realize is that when it starts to produce the temperature of the wash does not stabilize for a few minutes after it starts producing so the temp will fluctuate for the first say 5 minutes and then once it is set it usually stays in the range and then no more adjustments in water flow are necessary. Unless someone flushes the toilet.:-) :-) :-) I also recommend cleaning the ceramics and copper after three or so runs.

I too tried T500. If you bang on column and astutest the column temp. Down/Up & it will make lot's more then they stated on it. First few times only 4 quarts. Last few times made over 6 Quarts 190* & so on. Really depends the pantheists on the wash to be done really. Also i used Benoite to clear it up quickly.

Thanks for threhelp mike! A few days ago I called the shop where I bought it from and the owner sent me a return label so he can see for himself. He check it out and said there was something definitely wrong and over nighted a brand new column. Adventures in home brewing in Michigan really has top notch cust service!
