Alcohol and social resposibility
I don't know if anyone else will admit to watching the program on BBC 1 a week or so ago about alcohol?
I only had it on in the background while I catalogued my collection of pictures of scantilly clad ladies, but it did leave me with a few thoughts to share with you.
Some of the points the program was stating made me smile.
These are the ones that I remember.
#1. It seems that no-one should drink more than the equivalent of 7 pints of "Regular" beer a week, 14 UK units. For the last many years, I have exceeded that by a factor of 10 to 15. Owning a functioning and accurate breathalyser has become a part of my life . Owning a liver the size of a small dog also helps.
#2. 1 in 5 of us never suffer hangovers - I am the only one of those people that I have ever known, maybe the rest of them just don't drink?
#3. There are more congeners, (head bangers and vomit inducers) in virtually any red wine than any commercial Vodka or Gin.
#4. Eating before drinking really does slow down the rate of intoxication.
#5. Alcohol disrupts sleep in older people - Ha! Try waking a sleeping me, they have tried to bury me twice!
Robert.

#3..Hardly touch spirit
... Mainly red. With supper.
#4..always has imo.
#5... Nah. I sleep well and then wake at 6 most days. Sleeping is one thing I am really good at and have some proper claims to fame. The wife sleeps better after a few too.
