Hi all. Just been given a vodkastar pouch which my brother in law bought accidentally for wine.
Just a quick question on wether this should work.
1 x vodkastar
10kg sugar
Water to make 50ltrs
Would one VS be enough?

My last 2 wash's have been 5kg per 25lts. (as per AM's direction)..so 10kgs in 50lts should be ok.

A packet of V-star states mix with 21 lts...so to my mind in 50 lts it would be a very slow start. it would pick after a few days when the yeast had built it's self up. Could you make the V-star up as yeast starter?? then that way you give it a chance.

Hmm that's a great idea.
Maybe a 2ltr starter then pitch into the rest 24hrs later

That's what I'd do...you have nowt to loose...mix the yeast into a big starter that way you get them off to a good start.

My only,and recent experience with VS,was half a pack,5Kg sugar,22 lits water.
Aquarium heater at 30°C .
Racked off the lees 12 days later at .986.
In short, one pack,10Kg and 50 litres sounds good.
