What's the make of boiler?..Is this the type that's fitted???

If it is don't scrap the boiler, it's so easy to repair....I did my boiler that I use for brewing years back.

Thanks for the quick reply...... It's a Beer Me brand Boiler of 30 Litre capacity and it's all Stainless Steel except for the tap which is plastic..... Very similar to the one in the pic you posted...... As I am somewhat of a Nob at this sort of thing I thought I'd ask here first before I attempted the repair lol

I really Like the drain tap set-up that you have shown in the second pic.... Could you please tell me exactly what parts I need to buy to make one similar

The info and pics are really helpful and thanks once again for your assistance :)

Cheers

Right your on a winner with yours being Stainless Steel, mine is enamel and a bitch to work with as I had to open the hole to fit a new tap.

You need a tank connector like either of these..

You may have to open the hole in your boiler the same, as those plastic taps are a little smaller dia.

Food grade washer on the inside, through the hole, washer on the outside.

Pop the nut on and tighten.

Image

When you've fitted the connector a short length of 15mm copper pipe and stick a tap on the end...the tap is the washing machine type, you can get everything you need from your local plumbers shop...hey presto

Thanks again for all your helpful info.... The pics are a huge bonus as I wouldn't have had a clue what you were talking about whatsoever lol.... I really appreciate the fact that everyone on here is so keen to come to a newbie's aid.

My Boiler has done a fair amount of work ( I have another which has the element exposed in the bottom to keep me going while I repair the other one

Thanks

Whimpy :)

Hi Everyone.... Just a quick note and a huge thanks to Ice Fever for all his pics and helpful advice on how to save my 30 Litre Boiler from the scrapheap.... Went to my local brass foundry here in town with my broken tap and backnut in hand...... As it turns out the tap and nut were a 3 8th imperial size and the foundry set me up with a new brass tap and nut at the bargain price of $15.50 and went fitted it in 10 mins and she's good to go for tomorrows TPW run.

Thanks once again.... The info and experience gained on here is invaluable and very much appreciated :) :) :)
