Just a heads up guys, 288 8 Oz mason jars... hopefully I will buy them, if anyone else he is closer to Leicester than me and intends to bid for them shout loudly...

If I do get them and peeps are interested in having a few dozen they can be collected or posted out, I will check out the cost of new ones just in case these are not the bargain they appear to be.

Well I thought I would collect in 100mls and put a coffee filter paper on top, help the ageing process, might have to poke a few holes in the lids, I have lots of larger glass for the strip runs and many bottles for the finished products. 288 Jars will hold a lot of grog...

That's fine, it helps you to get used to the cuts you want for your drink by taking smaller samples...I was just checking you had seen the size as most people want the 1 litre jars. Once you have decided on the cuts you want to keep most folks will chuck them into a big jar again for aging with some wood. Eventually you will get to trust your nose & taste buds, I find I only go back to the small jars if it's a new recipe
I only had a quick glance at the listing but are they a solid top? If you need a large batch of jars then go for it, I think the seller is pulling a bit of a fast one calling them mason jars though...they seem to be regular old jars from the pics

LOL I saw a red wine glass type upper thing that fits so a whole bottle becomes a glass. Now that's the gear.

The jars were a useful nudge onto eBay, thank you. I ended up finding a dozen half gallon wide-lid glass pickle jars at £3-and-a-bit each, there are several sellers offering them below £40. Just what I needed.

most welcome... I havent followed up on the jars as I have just bought three more 2 litre swing lid kilner jars

Is that a screw down lid?
If so have they got any pint ones?
