Hi all,

Stoked to find this friendly forum, have been lurking for a little while now.

I bit the bullet and purchased a SS Air Still, can't wait for it to arrive.

Having been a long time beer brewer and closet Gin tragic I am pumped that soon I will be able to produce my fav spirit in a fashion that does not offend SWMBO to much, with equipment that does not take up 1/4 of the garage.

Looking forward to learning even more.

First wash is down, planning to bottle a liter of Aussie gold rum and a liter of gin fist up.

Quick question, my dad is a die hard vodka man, russian style, from his trans-Siberian shipping days.

Any suggestions for a simple vodka I could do for him?

You Have just made vodka.

Vodka, broadly, is ethanol and water.

You have made it with sugar as the food for the yeast (carbohydrate), whereas most vodka companies would use grain, or potatoes, etc.

Do him a bottle and see what he thinks.

There are essences which will add notes to simulate grain etc but for me they are a waste of time.
