Hi guys
I was enjoying some of my own produce the other night and noticed that whenever I took a swig shortly after having eaten a mouthful of salted nuts the taste in my mouth was more rounded and mellow.
So i wanted to ask if anybody does add salt as a flavour enhancer or has ever heard of anyone that does? It might sound odd but it works when drinking tequila.

Being Scottish I should really like this idea, maybe if you could also deep fry it somehow, and add just a smidge of heroin.
A drink that makes you thirstier, you'll be a millionaire!

It was just something that ran through my mind. Also I was on a contract about ten years ago in Taiwan and didn't start the contract with a lot of money in m pocket. So i bought a bottle of some cheap clear wine from the supermarket, didn't know what it was as the label was in chinese. When I drank it it was very salty. Some local who befriended us pointed out it was designed speacially for cooking. Not to be outdone of my purchase I added some dried sweet plums and let them soak. It still tasted a bit fowl but i managed to finish it although a second bottle was not an option.

The clear wine was Mi Jiu (mee jieo), not to be confused with Pi Jiu (aka beer). The dried plums I know well. Your level of desperation exceeds mine! Yuck! That is just nasty. There is also Gao Liang, which is distilled from Sorghum. Barely potable. I was so happy when I had money for Taiwan Beer. Less happy the next morning, but such is life.
