Chocolate Rum.

Chocolate Rum.

Postby gaza the instructor » Wed Sep 28, 2016 10:22 pm

Have 3x25ltr rum washes underway.
Would like to make some chocolate
rum, not just a hint but full on.
Has anyone tried or can help??
How much choc ?
What type?
Before or after stilling?
These two flavours need to come together.
Rather have a full bottle in front of me
than a full frontal lobotomy

Come on gezza, you must remember "Old Jamaica" , the chocolate bar with Rum flavouring and Raisins from 40 -45 years ago?

Where to insert your chocolate?
That to me is the biggest qestion,,,

And I think from an ecconomic viewpoint, you have to find a post spirit steeping method, or some of Icefevers excellantly discovered flavour juices, which I think bore the moniker of Monin.

As Ed says, I'd go for this....https://www.monin.com/en-gb/products/pr ... late-syrup

I've never tried the choc one....it would be a "try & see"
I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.

Monins Chocolate syrup added.
6ml per 100ml.
Result smooth sweet rum with that
yummie choc after taste.
May drop to 5ml on next batch :)

Hey, anyone, please feel free to take a pop at Mash or myself.
I am a dinosaur and he comes up with a good idea once in a blue moon.
We both have skin so thick that you would not believe, you will struggle to hurt us. ;) ;)
And both of us try to share the love. ;D

With hindsight I think that this thread proves something.
We can josh and we can talk Bolleaux for a bit of fun.
But if you want Chocolate in your spirit, do it afterwards.
