Am about to make some Vodka Swedish style.
What if any are the advantages of using
Dextrose?
I know its more expensive and you need more,
sounds like a retirement plan for the local
HBS.
Will be pot stilling, double run and making
harsh cuts to get the best.

Not brewing sugar... Too expensive and no gain.

To me a bag of cheap granulated white sugar is just that.
Lidl and Aldi bagged brands are just as good as any other that is out there.
Read the packs, same calorific content.
Try the packs, same results.

Taste the difference on two stripped and spirit run sugar washes utilising different "Brands" of supermarket sugar?

If the truth be known...T&L fill the bags for other outlets.

I use T&L because they do 5kg bags and
if the wife buys it in tesco, it comes out the
housekeeping not my beer money.
So no point in using dextrose ?
Just very expensive, weak sugar!
Will stick with T&L

The trouble is the don't tell you origin.

The difference for me is cane or beet.
I buy T&L in 25kg bags that way I can be sure it's cane.

I have a long run out to Hyperama cash and carry once in a while and stock up. Not hard to get a ticket. Bought a couple £10 something each ?? say £11.

The also do GS in 5l Jerry can think that was £7-8 ... might be VAT on that though.

Our massive local beet refinery closed in 2002 and is now a massive local housing estate.

I can't say that I have ever missed the stink when the wind was in the wrong direction, but I have never been able to discern any difference between cane and beet sugar.

Best price for sugar around our way at the moment is 45p a kilo in Farmfoods, and that is for T&L.

Lidl is 46p a kilo a present. I guess you could bulk buy cheaper but fuelling the motor would kill any gain for most.

I usually get mine in Iceland. They always have it 2 x 1kg bags for £1 (Whitworths). Or you can buy a 5kg bag for £2.75 if you want to pay an extra 25p for the convenience!

Poundstretcher usually have it for 45p a bag but not as convenient for me.

I avoid the German invader 'super' markets lol!!
