I know there is a topic all about it and thought I had it sussed untill.....
On my third distill, when all sould be as good as it gets, and this one is just to make sure I get Boil over !!!!!
Rings in, copper mesh in, already had a ltr out of it @ 75% and above
boil over !!
My guess is the seal looses its grip if you dont clean it
waddya reckon ?

Boil Over
Don\'t know, other than I always use the distillers conditioner as well........
Apparently it evens out the bubble formation and prevents the formation of large bubbles, that are big enough to lift the lid.
I always give my boiler pot a good rinse and wipe out after each batch.......
Haven\'t had a boil over for a while now.....

Boil Over
I must make a mental note not to post when I\'m pissed. What I typed was not what I was thinking. LOL
But Phantom managed to suss it anyhow.
I have bought some topshelf conditioner but I did not think I would need it with a more pure run.
I clean mine out between washes but not between runs, only ever giving the inside a rinse out inter that tap, perhaps that\'s why.

Boil Over
I rinse mine between runs rather than a full clean, it\'s usually fine but can boil over with a cloudy type wash. I think dirt on the seal might increase the chances of a weak spot, but isn\'t the main cause. I have still not heard anyone say they have had a boil over with conditioner, so that\'s the current recommended solution!

Boil Over
But on the 3rd distill when it\'s as clear as water and already hi in alcohol ?
I just don\'t get it.
Only did it to super clean my shine LOL.
When I got my "sunburn scald", it was when I was running some distillate that had come out cloudy (out of the super reflux) and I was just re-running it to clean it up.
It was between 80 and 85% at the time.
The only thing that I learned and was lucky with, is that high % purity distillate looses it\'s heat very quickly when it becomes vapour/mist - which is why I only got a sunburn scald.
Also, it\'s one hell of a good cleaning liquid. The kitchens never been so spotless!
That\'s basically why I always recommend that anyone with kids/pets, runs their still away from where they might be passing it if it should "burp"!

Boil Over
I wonder if the lid is slightly loose it lets out excess steam........which is maybe ok (letting off some steam )
or gurgling noise we hear
And if the lid gets a bit sticky due to sugar spillage from the wash maybe ?? if sticky residue sticks the lid slightly, i would imagine pressure build up from this maybe causes it to blow its top............ hot sugar is like caramel in a way....... would have to be some excess sugar in wash maybe..........
It is good for cleaning worktops and floors though, and the mist takes any ordours out of the room lol...........
