I found this ready made still with thumper and parrot for just £220 including postage.

Not sure if the put is induction compatible - I'd hope so.

What do you experts out there think of this set up?

There are those among the stilling fraternity that would say no to a glass thumper....mason glass or not.

I love the idea of a thumper but can't really justify spending £220 on this for that reason alone. I need to try and be sensible and stick with my T500 set up

I have to agree and do NOT recommend anyone use a glass thumper. Even pyrex breaks easily if you give it a thermal shock. And it is quite easy to do that by accident.

You can incorporate a thumper into a T500 easily. Even more so if you put it inline, but that depends on what style lid you are using. I haven't had my hands on a copper dome lid to see if it would cope with an inline thumper.

I think I need to learn a lot more first. I have the copper dome and condenser on order (taking bloody ages). If I can learn to include a thumper in my current set up later, I'll be well chuffed :)

All you will need is another pot & some connecting pipe work, make sure the thump pot has the same connection as your condenser & you're set!
I do wish glass thumpers weren't such a hazard, I imagine it to be quite relaxing just sat watching it bubble away!
