I'm in the middle of a build and based on the effort i have gone to get to the current stage I don't want to make one of those tri-clamp fittings by melting loads of solder so I want to buy an adapter for my keg to some 2inch copper pipe, like this photo but only place seems to be america. Is there somewhere in the Uk who sells them?

Hi Devon

StillDragon make a weldless boller connection

https://www.stilldragon.eu/en/adapters/ ... tting.html

Not sure about the colum connection, they also had some copper tri-clamp ferrules that soldered straight onto 54mm copper pipe, but they're all sold out and I don't think they will be getting anymore.

Sorry Devon,
I read this a couple of times and still unsure of the piece that you want!
Maybe it is me?
Do you wish to try again?

Robert.

Basically I want to fit a tri clover fitting to the bottom of my Column so I can just clamp it to the keg

Do you have any soldering or brazing skills / equipment? You could get all the pieces in that pic for maybe £15?
I recently bought a few of these (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0143DTJOW/ ... MwbVNSXZD0) to make my set up more modular, there are some different grade stainless (316 not 304) that are actually cheaper but you have to wait for the slow boat from China. Add to that about 6" of 54mm & a straight copper coupler then you have everything in the picture. If you can braze then ditch the coupler & just put it straight on the end of what you want

I have recently been looking at the chinese alternatives, what are they like as in build quality? i usually stick to 316 but is there much in the way of differences between 316 and 304?

Build quality works for me.
diff.in 304 & 316? only if you use it in a marine environment,as far as I have found.

The link above might well be Chinese imports but they're definitely being held somewhere in the UK, I got 3 delivered in less than 48 hours. To my simple, naked eye there is no difference in the 316 or 304 & both have taken to silver solder quite nicely. Both have also been dropped on a concrete floor without even much of a scratch (here's to being clumsy) & everything feels really solid when it's together, as nice as it would be to have mr. DistillingDomino do all the work for you I'm afraid he can keep them at those prices

Thanks Benoit.
At the price,I couldn't resist.
Delivered next day.
A bit "loose" inside 54mm pipe, but I can work around that.
Now to find the time to build a Very Silly Still.

Will the Very Silly Still be air-cooled?

They are a little loose, I found a very slight knock in the end of the pipe holds it tight whilst you work but it does make them a little hungry for the solder. If you have the kit then TIG weld would hold it steady a lot quicker than silver, stainless rods are cheaper than silver too!
I just realised I have about 2 feet of 54mm left, now do I save it for emergencies or does anyone have any suggestions?
