Re the coins, they were lovely and shiny after citric acid and still nice after the spirit run but I rinsed them and left them out to dry and they're all discoloured again. Is that usual?
Do they need to be citric acided and sterilised before every use or should I just store them better? In alcohol?

Quite normal. I don't clean mine everytime. Rinse and leave to dry on a towel. Lob in next time.

Copper comes out of a strip fairly clean, and a spirit run fairly dirty.
If I have time, I soak with a little Citric acid between uses, If not I simply store/hold in water.
