2" Tri-clamp bulkhead adapter.....

Post by Icefever »

For those of you that use a T500 and have seen these adapters, and thought about buying one, but were not sure enough if it would fit... well I can tell you they fit a T500 lid like a glove.

I ordered one from UK distilling on Sat, it came today and I'm chuffed. I've had my T5 since almost the start of my trip into this hobby, but never got on with the column that came with it. I made my own column..(riser to give it its proper name) and have stuck with it, it's served me well over the years.

I made a short section with the T5 screw one end and a 2" tri-clamp t'other...it's been great until now, but I built the reflux column

Now I have a small problem..building my reflux column as big as I could....ceiling height wise....when it's all put together I have to leave out the bubble ball. The whole lot is just too tall... sat in here on Sat on that spirit run I took a tape measure and found out that if I replaced the short section with one of these SS bulkhead I would be able to fit the bubble ball...so piggy had to cough up the price of one and it arrived this morning.

Forgot to add the nut to the setup, it's well made and the fit is spot on...I thought I may have to enlarge the T5 hole for it to fit....no need at all.

Looking at that picture Ice, you may have fitted it wrong - all the wash will run out that way up 😁

The Lid and those Screw/Triclamp adaptor fit a lot of lids. Fits my Brewzilla too.

Also the Alcoengine Pot and Reflux heads fit in the same sized hole. (Got both, as they came with my S/H Brewzilla I got a few weeks ago.
Man in Essex was giving up brewing. No one on here???

They are a great bit of kit, makes life a lot easier.... I'm now thinking about buying another as I want to alter my thumper so that I can use the pot as a small gin machine. I have the kettle elements leftover from my brewing kit, pop one in the pot, hey presto a 12-litre gin kettle.

I have two of these(by mistake). So I had a large Rum, pushed one
to each ear and charged the missus, snorting and farting about.
She asked me what the hell I was doing?" Guess ?" I said.
"I'm The Soup Dragon from The Clangers and I have come into
season." Well she said " you can take your tiny Dragon Tail and sod
off out my Kitchen", swinging a frying pan in my general.
They do the job.
