Carbon Filtering Book

For anyone wanting to look a little more into carbon filtering, this is an interesting read.

I have been wondering if we ought to have a "Bookstore" I have numerous PDFs of books and things that have been written up.
On the previous site they were littered about in separate threads. Can we do better?

Great idea, Mash. I for one would appreciate this, it would certainly help some of the less experienced people.

My concern with this is Copyright.
The e-book that I posted above clearly states that the author wishes the book to be shared electronically.
Maybe a workaround could be posting links to books on legitimate sites?
I am thinking upon this, but infringing copyright can be troublesome and costly, not an area for a fledgling site to stray into lightly.
Be aware, copyright books posted here may be removed.

Infringing copyright is an issue but moonshining is OK. Now there is a topic for discussion

To kick off the discussion.
Moonshining might be denying a government revenue that they think they are due.
Copyright infringements usually impact upon an individual persons intellectual and monetory rights.
I know where I stand on this, It may be wonky morals, but I am a villain, not a thief.

When I first read this I was thinking very much along the lines of Mash but the more I think about it our issue is moonshining is hooky however you look at it, probably not a good idea to add copyright to the list.
I suggest sharing links to the documents held elsewhere or if we want to provide them at least don’t host them here.
I don’t know if discussing a document held elsewhere still falls under copyright or not but I suspect not.
One could argue financial loss of an author is no different to the financial loss of the shop where someone no longer buys booze.

We could argue all sorts. :)
I think we (at least the admin), have to reach consensus, on what is permissable, in the "Common good" :!:

Nope, that doesn’t infringe copyright © law.
Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

Me too. I have a couple of pdf's I was not planning to share.

That does not exclude the use/setup of a bookstore. It means we know the rules and only have one thread (hopefully) to monitor.

A clear process. Once confirmed, any postings with books attached can be moved to the appropriate place.
We stay copyright clean, everyone knows where the library is on this campus.

PS I think library would be a better name for it.

Well done ED. Just been saying about that on one of the FB pages.

I "think" I posted it on the old site (or I just offered to pass it round to anyone who wanted to read it).........

Gonna download and save it.

I removed a link of my own from a different thread as I read that we should be respectful of copyright.

Asking someone via private message to "lend" you a book seems like the way to go.

Still seems somewhat ironic that we respect copyright of books written about illegal activities.

I don't disagree, but I respect the rules of the club I have joined as well as the theoretical concept of it only being drinking our produce or putting it in our roadgoing motor veeHicle being illegal and not the making of it. We have the best flavoured lawnmower fuel and BBQ lighter anywhere, bar none!

(do not try this if you have an electric lawnmower)

Edit : It is only anecdotal as I can't find the link, but here in Northern Ireland where the use of red (agricultural) diesel is prevalent, there was a story doing the rounds about a guy who was stopped on the road in his van with a tankful of the naughty stuff and successfully won his case in court because he had a receipt for a bag of oats or some such.

LOL. Electric lawnmower brilliant

He would probably have had a cast-iron case if he had reregistered the van was a tractor. There are a few guys round here who reregistered wrecked cars as Tractors and use them as shooting vehicles

I personally think the idea of a library would be great.

How about having it as a "cloak and dagger" section, available to paid members only?

You might be right in that there has to be a solution to this - somehow?

Do we just keep a list of what is available.
A member just posts their interest and someone might just pm/email it.
They in turn become a sharer/sender?

This made me smile, although a little hard to comprehend, on first read through.

I stick by my earlier post concerning copyright.
I will delete anything posted here that I believe infringes copyright.

If someone would care to take charge of a thread on this forum that offers access to copyright material, and where to find it, without posting said material on this site, they have my blessing.
Step right up.

Well, if ever there was a post that was a little hard to comprehend on first read through......

So are you saying my suggestion [below] is a good idea or would you consider it copyright infringement?

I think your post, that you re-quoted, just about nails it.
Apologies if you feel I was snubbing you.
A couple of nights this week I have failed to read all New Posts before falling asleep at the laptop, only to awake at 3 or 4 am, sprawled at the table, and the cat stretched out on my bed!
Tonight I have a whisky wash happening and a sugar wash strip going on, this ensures that I stay awake, and do catch-ups on the forum posts not previously read.

Going to have a think about how we could operate a ebook/pdf resource for members only.

Open to any ideas.
