Red-Neck Essencia filter tap fix

Post by Easydrinker »

The black plastic top component of my tap recently failed.
Lazy bugger that I am, 5 minutes with a drill. some stripped copper cable, a pair of pliers and a small piece of hammered flat 15mm copper pipe, I have a work-around.
It has lasted several weeks so far...

I will probably add resin (Araldite) and hope that it lasts.

I have replaced these taps in the past. EBay might be a good place "tea urn" or "burco taps" will get you there. Normally less than £10
To Gin-finity and beyond !

Never looked but is the tap secured by a retaining nut on the inside.
If so Mash is right (as usual ) you could fit a new tap.
TBH do not use a filter very often.
