Fantastic tool

Post by Mash »

Dual purpose tool. Ideal for a couple jobs we do.

Increases yield and allows access.

That is indeed a magnificent tool. We would use it to frighten the local
drug runners.

Very seasonal. The spike for lifting out clusters of blackberries to aid picking and save shreading your hands. And the flat head opens beer bottles for when you have finished.

So far this year 4 kilos frozen.

Might also work for sloes?

We're nowhere near for brambles or sloes either. Small, hard and green is not too appetising

Mash lives in the sub-tropical South.
We still have Elders in flower, which will never produce a ripe berry.

been looking this week. seen some that "look" like sloes but they're very plump looking, so presume that they're bullaces. The sloes are colouring, the early blackberries are starting but a lot still have some way to go (and I'm a lot further south than Mash).........

But the damsons and cherry plumps are starting to drop so.........

Ask Auntie Gogle, the last few that I tasted, many/several years ago were as bitter as F*ck!.
I believe the choice, ( literally) boils down to a ton of sugar for jam, or a little less sugar for chutney.
