can i let my carbon dry out ?

Ok so used my essencia filter for about 3 years and manage to refill the cartridges for next to nowt. if i have a period without using it does it hurt the carbon or make it ineffective to let it dry out ?

Yes. If you need to use carbon then you can make it more effective by ensuring it is saturated before use.
You can store it with alcohol if you can find a way to seal it so it does not all evaporate, or use water.

Alternatively store it dry and just pre-treat it before you use it.

A word of warning.
The outer surface of the ceramic filter will grow a black mold/mildew if allowed to dry slowly.
Don't ask how I know!
But then my domicile is seemingly covered with Torula fugus! :lol:
Keep it wet or dry it fastish.

You can also dry it in a low oven 100c springs to mind but I can check.
