Quick question

So I have some bottles of various spirits and I would like to reclaim the alcohol What is the maximum abv that i should start at? as in can I just tip it all in regardless or should it be below a certain % ?

It's been a while gadget. Nice to see ya.

The official advice is 30%. I run a lot of reruns and tend to just top up with 'some' water. Perhaps about 1/2 litre.

Hi Mr G on a Reflux column you can do 45% But thats about it.

If you just want the ethanol, for maybe sanitiser, run it high.
If you hope to drink the result, run it low, with judicious cuts.

Hi guys thanks for the replies, I will try some from the bottles and add some distilled water just to knock it down a bit. Will post pics shortly, might even do a video of it...

This is my second one of these and came from amazon (chinese) but they work good and I also have a 'green machine' , two Airstills and other bits and bobs so things move in mysterious ways up here in the fens...
