Waste Not Want Not

Post by gaza the instructor »

This is really for all you new guys and those of us who do silly experiments.
"Book me Danno murder one." So you end up with a load of odds and ends,
Gins, Vodkas and other mistakes.
I split mine into two lots, fruity flavoured and non fruity flavoured.
Fruity 3.2ltrs at 40%topped up to 4ltrs with water in the Air Still and ran it down
to 20%. Result 1.8ltrs clear but faint sweet smell at 66%. So I ran it again
collected to 30%. 1.2ltrs at 70% and I will make a Lemon based Gin with
that today. ED does this mean I am recycling something?
Does this mean "Greenpeace" will tie a rope on me and tow me out to sea?

We keep our ullage and redistill. Works well.

A mate told me years ago, that polish vodka factories wash the bottles with product before restilling it.
To Gin-finity and beyond !

I watched a video only the other day of a well-known brand and they pointed out that they used vodka to rinse the bottles that were going to be filled, that way there was no chance of anything happening to their produce.

I know we do Mash, blimey the amount of failed Gin recipes at a litre

They will probably produce a badge with your name on it, and sell it at fundraisers.
