Dishwasher vodka
I heard you can do salmon in dishwashers but I've always been to scared to try....to ruin a perfectly good salmon would be a disaster.
As for the vodka, I tried the shaking thing last night with some Strawberry Haribos....they didn't dissolve at all without the heat that the dishwasher cycle gives it.

Re: Dishwasher vodka
I read somewhere probably you tube,
about chocolate dishwasher vodka.
cut 4 cadburys caramel bars up into small pieces
and add to a bottle fill with spirit and bung it in.
I suppose it would have to be the hottest cycle.
Sounds very sickly to me.
Well off round the shop now to spend all my pocket
money on caramel bars.

Rather have a full bottle in front of me

Re: Dishwasher vodka
There are plenty of recipes out there, it would seem that you can pretty much pick your favourite sweets & dissolve them into some vodka using your dishwasher. I've seen skittles & worthers both being used. Make sure the lid is sealed up good & tight, a lot of videos use some cling film as additional protection too. Remember to let it cool before you pop it open!

Re: Dishwasher vodka
An alcoholic version of anyone's favourite weakness is surely a road to ruin?

Re: Dishwasher vodka
Iv don't have a dishwasher, so what about this idea.
Place the bottles with the vodka and ingredients mixed into a stock pot. Then after a run on the T500 fill the stockpot around the bottles with the spent heated wash from the boiler.
It'd be quite smelly, but as long as the bottle were sealed properly, do you reckon therw'd be enough residual heat to do the magic?
I like the idea of finding a use for that heated wash that usually just goes down the drain or on the garden when cooled.

Re: Dishwasher vodka
Is the element exposed in a T500? If it's not then I wouldn't even pour it into a pot, just use the boiler with the lid off & enough liquid to surround the bottle without making it float. It would be easy to warm up again if the sweets hadn't dissolved then too, just turn your boiler back on. I guess any ban marie type setup will work as long as the bottles are well sealed for those without dishwashers.
Finally a good use for a dishwasher, I have a one & hate the thing! Still wash everything by hand!

Re: Dishwasher vodka
Good thought Benoit.
Element is concealed so could drain off some liquid and set the bottles inside.

To get back to the OP of this thread;
You would need to know your Salmon was WELL wrapped if actually cooking it while washing dishes with detergent?
Robert.
