Last night I finally got to a Martin Simpson gig.
Excellent, and another thing to be crossed off the bucket list.

I was in Leicester last week. I keep forgetting I grew up there. Leicester has not a single mitigating feature, it was the armpit of the universe back then and I've no desire to see whether it's improved since. I was there last week to catch a train out of town, which sums up my attitude exactly.
They have a brown street sign to "The Cultural Quarter". What?!
What I did today was I tasted some vodka. Before 11am. That's novel.

The weekends over, so back to the grind. Still bubbling away, new fermentation bin turned up and have ordered a parrot, going to have a go at Gin.
Just back from a mega run to the dump, brought nothing back.
Now time to rotate one of my infusions.
Must get some goat locally? I feel a curry coming on.

Found 500 grams of Biscuit malt down the back of my grain bins, must have been there for over 1 year.
Ground it with my coffee grinder set to powder, and made it into ginger biscuits, very scrumptious.

Re: What I Did Today
I worked some Blueberry vodka yesterday, the wife and I had a couple of shots of it, excellent. We aren’t really shot drinkers, but are defiantly getting tempted.
I am looking at doing a sensible infusion with my chillis, any suggestions please?
They are Apaches about 75000 Sc.
Too many appointments today so no brewing.

Re: What I Did Today
For chilli vodka, just chop out the stalk, put the rest in a blender and chop to 1 or 2mm size.
Pour a three quarters of a litre of neutral in and slosh it round the pour the whole lot into a decent size killer jar, use another quarter litre of neutral into blender pot and give it a final slosh before pouring into the jar with the rest.
Seal, then give it a little shake every time you walk past it.
The capsaicin is a fatty alkaloid so will dissolve quite quickly, so you'd have hot sort of chilli neutral. For the rest of the fruit flavour you'd need to leave it longer, like a month or so....
Strain it through a coffee filter and bingo.....
Too hot ? cut it with some more neutral.....
Chilli vodka.....excellent bloody marys

Have I ever seen a better example of an Oxymoron?
Especially after throwing it out for advice?

Morning Chaps
Thanks for the info on chilli vodka. So in simple terms, add more chilli for heat and more natural for less, I will get one on this after noon.
Heavy day today, after I walk the dog and see to the hens, I will get stuck in to the brewing starting with 2X5 galls of wash, then the chilli V. I don’t like to do too much in a day so I will see how I feel after that.
