The next morning no headache ???
I’m still new at distilling, just did one batch a few months ago. One thing that I noticed is that my spirits doesn’t give me a headache. I went camping a few weeks ago and did a test on my spirits. I had 1 “store bought bottleâ€

Yes.
Its the lack of chemicals that are added to the commercial stuff.
Be careful driving the next day as the lack of a hangover doesnt mean that your not still over the limit.

Traditional Rums whisky\'s Brandy\'s etc rely on the art of the distiller to leave sufficient of the tails in to give the finishede product it\'s flavour in amongst these are the toxins that give you the hangover effects your used to. What we produce is reasonably pure alcohol without the tails and then we add the flavours hence no toxins equals no headache. If you can keep your output from the still between 79-82 degrees you will always have the best.

One observation of the Triple Yeast/Distilled spirits:
About a year and a half ago I got myself stabbed - I stopped a little shit stealing a ladies handbag and he returned the compliment. I was taken off to hospital for checking as I was bleeding alot but because of lack of national heath service interest I discharged myself. A week later i was back in for emergency op due to collapsing with serious infection. Before they could op i was given exam by nurses and asked if i drank. When I said a bottle of vodka a day THEY went white. They said the tox screen would stop my op but it came back negative, showing our spirit is a lot less harmful than commercial.
OK I don\'t suggest drinking a bottle a day, but I was doing (for my own reasons) but the spirit we produce does seem to be a lot cleaner than commercial.

I bet it\'s a small bottle rather than the 1 or 1.5 litre ones!
I too have noticed a distinct lack of the traditional hangover - unless I really lay into it and then it\'s more of a still being on a different planet feeling!
Also checked the blood level several time with the old breath-o-meter and interestingly, unless it\'s one of those \"heavy sessions\" the alcohol seems to clear the blood stream a lot quicker than with shop bought stuff.
That is why you have to drink more, more often, to maintain the alcohol/blood mix in the right proportions!
I have also noticed that when the \"children\" are home the spirit seems to evaporate very quickly!

Fist I would like to mention that when I was camping, I was drinking 750ml bottles. Second, the wife wasn’t there… lol
I though that I would post what I used and how I did it.
I use Turbo Yeast classic. Now I know that most distilling connoisseur
don’t like Turbo yeast, so please no slack from this. 8 kg of granulated sugar. Got about 19 % out of the batch. Then distilled it. I must of made a good cut. I only take out 60 % of the alcohol that was produced by the fermentation.. Example, say your distilling 10L of sugar wash at 20%. Before you distil, you should have 2 L of alcohol in the wash. After distilling you would take out 1.2 litre of alcohol “if you could get 100% alcoholâ€

A lot of commercial distillers are run continuously and to maximise profits, therefore they discard the bare minimum for cost reasons. We (if we\'re doing it right) chuck away far more in our foreshots and tails than they would, but by doing so we\'re keeping our spirits purer and I for one am happy to waste a little if it means no hangover!
A test for anyone who has been doing this a while - before you start drinking one evening, pick yourself up a bottle or two of vodka from the shops. They only have to be small, and I\'d recommend trying to get one of the \'no name\' ones as well as a named brand if you can - or this method also works if someone brings a bottle to a party, etc.
Don\'t drink any of them yet, but use your other senses on them. Smell them and rub some betwen your fingers, see if you can tell the difference. Before I started doing distillation, I would have said that vodka was a tasteless, odourless spirit but believe me you\'ll soon see that while YOURS might be, the commercial ones certainly aren\'t...
