Well it's better to tell them it's for wines, beers, chutney, etc as the alternative (not stilling) might get you a tug.........

I was actually thinking of other uses for sugar Ice. A couple of them that I can think of are even more unpopular with the authorities (one of which I was taught professionally in a previous life).......
But as with anything, there's often more than the intended use for a material......

Had a guy who worked for me years ago, used to drive
one of our trucks.His name was Maurice and he said,
with real conviction that in a previous life he was a
real Red Indian Chief. So from that day we called him.

As far as I understand it, the sugar tax is about carbonated soft drinks. To try an discourage parents plugging their brats into bottles of coke etc........
