Fireball copy

Postby billmcc » Thu Mar 14, 2013 7:51 pm

Went to the local boozer and tried a drink called fireball a cinnamon based liqueur at 33abv and it was very nice indeed. I read on another forum of someone making a similar drink as this called firepiss using 6 cassia cinnamon sticks 50g sugar maccerated in 75cl 40abv ethanol for about a month, so i thought i would give it a try.the month macceration is complete sugar dissolved in 160ml warm water to bring the final abv to 33 then filtered through cotton wool and i am now sampling my wares.mine has a darker colour and feels thinner than fireball but tastes every bit as nice at a fraction of the cost.I also made another bottle but kept the abv at 40 this one has more bite and a hotter flavour which i prefer.
Cheers

This is the real thing

I saw some variations of this on the modern distiller forum.
Don't yell at me because I'm a virgin distiller

Add a bit of glycerine will give it a better texture / mouthfeel
