I buy Sparkolloid all the time and it is a white, ultra fine powder. That stuff looks brown and a bit course and more like diatomaceous earth which is a component of Sparkolloid.

I buy mine from here..http://www.brewhaus.com/Clearing-Agent- ... -P853.aspx

This is a weird one.
The Sparkolloid that I bought, from a different supplier seems to colour match the OP.
The diatomaceous earth, that we use to de-louse the chickens is white, and even cheaper than chips.
Someone is having someone over here.

I can confirm that the one supplied by brewhaus in Texas is the same product supplied by Scott Labs who manufacture and own the brand name 'Sparkolloid' although they will only supply businesses in the US.

On top of that, I can 100% vouch that the Sparkolloid supplied by Brewhaus/Scott Labs does, in fact, clear any wash to crystal clear in 24 hours at a tiny fraction of the cost of other finings ;)

I've got mine from two suppliers in North America. Both have a colour very similar to standard white flour.

This is interesting as I have found a supplier locally - well in country anyway - however photo from his page tends to show product as more brownish then white. Have asked the question a this stage.

Real Sparkolloid produced by the manufacturers, Scott Labs, is White in colour and Scott Labs do not have any agents outside the US.

If it's brown it's not Sparkolloid.

The sparkolloid I buy from Brewhouse in Canada is also Brown in colour and it does clear the wash (but not in 24 hours) more like 3-5 days. Damn!!!

I am pretty sure that is the real stuff, it is a very pale tan in colour. If it does not clear the wash in 24 hours then there was still dissolved CO2 in the wash. I often jump the gun and get that.

Those guys in the US are quick.

Sent them a Facebook message on their site about postage costs to the uk and realised just after that they had closed for the day. I still got a reply two minutes later though.

I'm looking at buying a couple of packets of Sparkoloid but I think the shipping costs will be more than the product.

Anybody fancy doing a group buy on it.
