Personally I think the 2" packed column will be a rarity in a few years.
3" x 1m of SPP is a virtual foolproof vodka rig. For the pot stiller there are loads of options

Excellent info there, thank you. Just finished making my "Sputnik" and it looks OK. Got a batch to distill tomorrow then it's onto the sputnik gin.
