Less food, less drink!

This seemed the most relevant place to post this, maybe of interest to some.
Back last September I attended a neighbours funeral,I discovered an hour before the service that the suit I had planned to wear did not fit.
I struggled to find formal wear that did.
My body weight had risen by more than 7lbs :o
For the last four months I have paid a little more attention to what I eat, slightly smaller portions of food and maybe just a little less alcohol.
Today I hit the scales at the previous five year average weight.
And it it didn't hurt a bit. ;)

Well done Robert....I'm doing the same, my doc told me I needed to loose maybe a stone.
Before chrimbo I hit 18.1 stone, I'm 6'2" so I wasn't Mr Blobby.. :D

Mrs Ice is a good cook..(as you know ;) ) so we bought smaller dinner plates, she now has to restrict what she plates up.

I too have cut back on the likker, maybe 50%....yesterday I got into my biking leathers for the first time since maybe 2014...I'm now 17stone 4lbs....Mrs Ice has also lost about 5lbs so she's over the moon too.

Mr & Mrs Smug back to you sir.. 8)

Wife joined Slimming World the Thursday before last, so naturally I have had to follow her diet. It was a bit hard for the first day or so, but I list 6Lb in the first week.

Alcohol is regarded a sin but I am permitted 3 G&Ts a day as a treat.

We're not ones for diets, but some do allow you likker... ;) we've just cut back on portion size. I now look at life like if I want a couple of rums, then I leave Mrs Ice's carrot & walnut cake alone.

It's all down to being sensible with what you want...I have the cake then I don't partake of the rum...I must admit finding the will power is far easier than I thought it was going to be.

I had my 6 months visit to the doc last week and he said to keep it up and we may be off the blood pressure tablets...now that has given me more incentive.

Not a fan of fad diets. We think smaller portions and real food works.

We have relatives who I can only describe are "harvesters" we cook almost double when they come and there is still nothing left. Bonkers. He lost his eye sight for a few weeks last year. Doc said due to blood pressure due to weight and still keep on.

The old see food and eat it diet, that was me when I was working, 4 meals a day. Paid for it, diabetes and high blood pressure problems, 3 years later and still trying to sort things out. The diet could be the answer.

Aye, that's the way I see it, it is a simple lifestyle change, not hard, when you consider it's implications.
