£9.50 for 3 miles...

Postby Icefever » Sun Apr 26, 2015 8:01 am

:o ....That was the cost yesterday to travel into Hereford on a bus. We've come away for the weekend in the camper, we've wanted to visit Hereford for some time.
The campsite has a bus stop at the end of the drive...so I'm thinking don't take the car, what with the cost of parking these days....the "mind set" of "use public transport".

Now I know I'm a Yorkshire man...you can't hold that against me.. ::) as the swmbo reminds me at times...but cut me some slack here. When we arrived in town there were car parks everywhere...and the one we see had the first 2 hours free.

We will return to the area, we will use the same site, but next time I'm using the smegging car. :D :D

All public transport sucks. I can never get the drivers to pull over so I can get a coffee or take a detour just for the sake of it and standing at a bus stop in the pouring rain is the reason cars were invented ;D

I once had a slight case of food poisoning many years ago after eating a curry pot noodle before the noodles had gone soft, I filled the aisle of a bus with half digested bright yellow noodles :-)

The look on the drivers face was a picture lol

My "erindoors" had to use a bus the other day (a course for work).

Given how much it'd.be for all day parking, she.drove.to work, but the bus for.The last two or so miles was £4.60.

Which I thought expensive, given that when I drove the areas buses, it was a flat rate of 60p anywhere in central town.

Meh! prices will rise I suppose, and compared to the parking cost, a bargain.

Buses around here in Barnsley are expensive and filthy since Stagecoach took over.
The amount of smoke that comes from the exhausts is unreal, dunno how they pass the emissions test??

It makes me wonder, when I am in the London area, just what all the "Low Emission Zone" signs mean.
I think the exhaust police are maybe politically hand-cuffed?
