Bit late on this, but been delayed by DIY. DIY is, apparently, more important than making booze. Just wanted to say thanks to all those who posted with their advice. Picked up a handful of copper olives for the boiler (£2.50) all glassware on order, and currently, finally, doing the stripping run. got about 21 litres kale wash, seemed to ferment for about 3/4 weeks, surprising given the heat we've had. Just going to follow the sticky instructions for the whole process this time round - not fussed too much about trying cuts at this point!
Of course its supposed to taste like that...

Copper olives... You sure?

Olives are normally brass aren't they?

Nope, depending on supplier olives come in brass or copper.
Personally, for no reason other than aesthetics, I prefer copper.

Aesthetics?

It seems copper is softer so tightens easier and is better for plastic pipe.

Learnt something today..
