WWW (Wonderful Wheat Wash)
I am sure this is somewhere else on here too, but now it is officially in the recipes section...
This is my favourite neutral wash. Straight forward, quick and very very clean tasting. Suitable as a base for both natural flavours & essences.
.... move over lentils
The ingredients, mixing, pitching and fermenting instructions are all in a single page PDF.
Let me know what you think !!
1.2 UPDATE: bit less sugar!
1.3 Update: Better chickens!

Re: WWW (Wonderful Wheat Wash)
What a relief
I had worried this might be a DWWG clone
Never want to see that evil stuff again
I'll def give this a try but I'll have to use malted barley 'cause I can't get the wheat handy
Should be OK! I'll let you know how it goes
Thanks M

I used wheat 'cos I had it to hand. It's soooo cheap. £5 for 25kg. Malted does the same.

Re: WWW (Wonderful Wheat Wash)
Pet food suppliers or whole food shops will do it.
Horsey shops or country suppliers will do chicken supplies.
Farm shops might.
I buy mine straight from the farm - which isn't much help I know.
Blimey, just found some on eBay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/POULTRY-FEED- ... 2a5190916a

Re: WWW (Wonderful Wheat Wash)
Time for a quick rave about this recipe - my first batch (the one that took nearly a month for those following the thread in fermentation! has just come out of the Essencia.
I'm quite blown away by the results - it's by miles the nicest thing ever to have come out of my Airstill - ok, I've only done lentils before (and blech turbo blech before that) but I'm very pleased I've another two washes on the way!
Hats off to Mashy for this - try it if you haven't; it's a superb neutral
Cheers

Mash I think I hit the jackpot.
used my yeast bomb, 5kg of sugar
followed your recipe and wow
instant fermentation (mad).
Cant take 10 days going like a
turbo !!!

Hmm, interesting. I stuck with this recipe for months before defecting to kale. I prefer the result from kale, so I'll be interested in your views on the results..!

Re: WWW (Wonderful Wheat Wash)
Hampk, its just erupted. 3 washes going mad.
The last time I had this much activity on
the airlocks was with a B.T. rum wash.
Only things I have changed are 400g wheat
and my yeast bomb.

Would this do the job in the recipe? I'm not too familiar with corn!

Not really wheat, although there will be some in it. Might work. Corn is corn. Wheat isn't.
