We do dinner around 1900 so I chucked two medium sized chickens, that I had brining overnight, onto the grill with used oak chips and a little hickory for the smoke.

I cook them for 3-4 hours depending on meat temp and they were delicious along with a huge jug of iced Raspberry Nukins that everyone loved - thanks to FS for that one ;D

End of a lovely day. Good Weather, Good Food, Good Drinks, Good Company ;D it doesn't get much better ;D

Sunny Barbados...bit of a change from Breton Island I'd imagine ::)

I got up this morning, after a glorious sunny day on Sunday, only to find the good old reliable Irish weather had returned and it's once again pissing down rain upon my plans to get my deck finished.

For that reason I'm extremely jealous of your current location.

Enjoy the Rum :D

Started to strip my Cornflakes Wash. Can't smell much of a flavour carry over though. :-\ :-\

Got enough through to do a spirit run tonight. :) :)

Will have to see how it goes after that.

Hi Amaark, one of the major drawbacks of the Airstill is the need for double distillation.

This together with the lack of power control means it's not really suitable for making spirits with flavour. More suited to adding flavour after the event as the product from the spirit run in the Airstill will be quite neutral.

Three days later than planned but I have the boiler set up and ready to strip the latest washes first thing in the morning. I even preheated the wash to 70oC and the insulation will keep it nice and hot for the morning when I can turn the power on and get low wines flowing within 30 mins.

The two washes I had were 55l after racking and the boiler only takes 40l on the strip so my Airstill has been pressed into service for the morning too. I'll be nuking the wash before charging the Airstill to get it producing as quickly as possible. I have four Airstill runs to do and I want them all finished tomorrow while the main potstill strips the main batch.

Optomistic aren't I ;D

i had some neutral on hand waiting for the chance to do some flavouring, so I decided to give the nuking a try, added some french oak to 750ml of 65ABV and blasted it twice,, I was amazed at how fast it changed colour,, I am now waiting for it to cool off so I can filter, and dilute, then I will give it a test.
ans SHMBO has gone to get me some JD chips for the rum,,,

Life is good.... ;D

Try neutral with the JD chips for bourbon. I give it three blasts. Add a 1/2 tsp of sherry first if you have it on had. That reminds me, I am thirsty...

Very neat and tidy welding ;)

I presume both elements screw out but what type are they and where'd you get them?
