Voltage regulator

Have only used mine once so far, just yesterday in fact.
Unbelievably, it seemed to do what it says on the packet

I am working on a voltage reg tho'.....

You mean pot still or gate valve on the water (which as I understand is water flow regulator, correct me if I am wrong please)
By the way, this water flow regulator is really fascinating thing, I like to be in control

@domasj...I may've misread your post. I stole an alembic and condenser some time back, only just got around to using it. From where I sit I view it as a pot still.
I have a gate valve fitted to my reflux unit to regulate water.
This pot set up connects straight to my brew shed water supply which as far as I know is not influenced by water draw off elsewhere on the property so all I had to do was calibrate the sink tap.

My understanding is that the gate valve is an additional mod to improve the water control. Different from the supplied needle valve.

...not sure how such a mod would improve water flow when the needle valve goes from full bore to nothing in its range .? Can you elaborate Mash

From my understanding it adds controllability (fine tuning) not just range.

I am only repeating what I have read here abouts - I have never used or owned.

Logically two valves should always act better than one in flow control - the first doing the course correction the second the finer.

I see your point Mash.. I run my needle valve after a garden tap which I suppose would act as a valve earlier in the water supply. Although like I say the needle valve goes all the way from full bore to nowt, and has a very fine adjustment.
