half strength spirits

Hi all quick question has anyone tried making a half strength spirit by just flavouring the fermented wash, if so whats the best method and is there a recipe for five litres

Hey Bill.

I wouldnt even try flavouring the wash, have you tasted the wash? its terrible.

Kind of like a really bad cheap nasty wine gone bad.

Would be better to run the still then water down to 20% or whatever it is that you want.

Doing this would give the flavour your after at the strength you want.

Win win.

Andy thanks for your reply but i was asking on behalf of a friend who dosent have an air still. who asked me the same question, i have seen a kit from alcotec for this purpose but wondered if anybody had tried it

I have a friend who makes low alc stuff for his 18 year old kids and figured you wanted the same.
