EZ filter good results?

Postby homedistiller » Fri Apr 27, 2012 3:06 pm

Ive been using the air still for a while now and my least favourite part is filtering. It's slow and boring and can be messy. Ive tried the little filter system that comes with the air still which is so slow and a bit pants imo. I bought the ez inline filter which again is a hassle to use for me.

Ive looked at the essencia but it's expensive and not available locally to me. And ive also looked at the ez filter which i can get from my local home brew shop.

Ive read on here that they are hassle free but what is the end result like? Is the brew clean and smell free? Is filtering necessary?

Well i have been using this today and im very impressed with it. It is easy to assemble seems to be of good quality too. I have run 3.5 litres through it and it has done an excellent job of polishing it up the smells that were in the spirit just after distilling have gone and it is taste less bar the heat you get from spirit.

It's fairly fast at filtering too a litre goes through in around an hour. I think if i was using something like a t500 this wwould really comee in to it's own.

I am using the EZ Filter system here as well with very good results. It was worth the expense in buying it.
