Turbo Clear questions

I have been using this stuff but know nothing about it.

I have looked through the forum but cant find anything.

So, what\'s in it, ingredients etc ??

How does it work ??

since turbo clear and wine finings are pretty much the same have a look at wiki wine finings info

I was just going to give my explanation then looked at foRum warriors link to very detailled info.... just what I was going to say....only in a lot less words (and blonde words at that!)

Just to confirm that he contents of the Alcotec Turboklar is water, kiselsol and chitosan.

Hi Andy,

I think you have all the info you need from the previous posters.

The Silicic acid in the formula forms a \'gel\' which attaches itself to the defunct yeast cells and sticks them together. The Chitosan reacts with and causes the yeast cells to flocullate, ie. form clumps which sink to the bottom.

Donâ€™t anyone be tempted to try egg white to clear a wash,, I did and trust me it donâ€™t work it leaves loads of protein in the wash which makes it impossible to distil, it has the same effect as boiling milk, it gushes and fills the demijohn with wash (not spirit)
