Re: brew pump
This guy has lots of nice gear for brewing, and pumps upto 22l/m. Not cheap and cheerful by any means, but if you are shifting larger volumes might be worth the investment.
I like the ones that don't have plastic threads, less likely to be over torqued and ruined.

I would try 25l bucket. Draw from the bottom. Splashing the return. And have some ice packs to hand. I use 4l litre Milk containers.

So my 100L slimline water butt I have laying around would do OK

Always give the hardest job to the laziest person because they will always find the easiest way to do it.

Re: brew pump
The Chugger seems to be very popular with regular beer brewers but I use the solar pumps and they are brilliant for my purposes.
I have one permanently connected to my main boiler and the boiler outlet plumbed into the sink waste so that when a run is finished I can pump out the crap left in it at the turn of a tap. Makes for very easy post run clean-up. Plus they're quiet and cheap to replace but I've had mine 2 years now and never a problem. I bought 2 spares and they're still in the box they came in.

Hmm. What a good idea - saves keep lifting it to tip it out. Apart from the hops... so I am back on the hunt for a hop strainer !!

Boiler does both wash and beer. Be a shame not to use your cracking idea for both.

Re: brew pump
Of course, it now looks like a silly question. I have a braumeister clone boiler for all grain processing and a separate boiler dedicated to stilling which has a 54mm top opening useless for making beer, so wasn't thinking straight when I asked

Still a cracking idea. The braumaster type boilers are still quite a lump to swing around.

Re: brew pump
You're right and that's why mine has it's own stand on wheels and pump so it never has to be handled or moved. I don't do manual labour without money

Re: brew pump
Well, I didn't re-invent them
but they do make my life easier cause I can put the heavy gear exactly where I want when I need it and out of the way when I don't.
