Andy - you wont need woolley jumpers - just bring a bottle of your spirit - that will keep you warm. I\'ll laugh if if\'s a hot (over 30 degrees) weekend. I had my first drop(s) of Turbo T500 last night - WOW!! and i\'ve got 10 litres of the stuff!

Wld Trky - we will all be interested in your final recipe!

Hello, I\'m Jeremy from the large continent south of Canada. Thinking of purchasing the T500 but have several reservations which have been posted in the general discussion section prior to me noticing this thread. I have never used a refulx still before just the \"traditional\" Pot still for quite some time making primarily whiskey from barley/rye/corn; really small quantity.
I\'m excited to get started reading as I have a lot to catch up on...
Thanks for having me!

Hi to all.. I've been stillin for about 15 years on and off. I make whisk(e)y mainly but do have a VM when the wife wants vodka. I have 2 stills, a VM, as already mentioned and a 6 plated 4" whiskey still, fitted with bubble caps, dephlegmater and sight glasses. I make all grain washes from corn and malted barley but seem to spend most of my time ageing my shine. I heat with propane in the summer and 2 x 3Kw immersion heaters in the winter months. Never used plastics, never needed to. Hell if I needed a collection vessel I use glass, if I need a funnel I make it from copper.

Thanks for having me.

Hi Shiner, Welcome!
Deflegmater? (deflegmator) Never heard of anyone else using that technique. Would love to see a picture of your setup.
Not really of relevance to the 'Smart-Still' but, nevertheless, I think the guys here would appreciate your experience and advice.
(you should update your experience profile to 'senior')
Regards, Ronbo.
