Nuking Spirits In The Microwave
Thought I would start a new new topic after just reading 'gaza the instructor' mention the method of making his own JD with chips and a microwave on another post.
I've read quite a few topics about this over the last few months, and I'm intrigued.
I have a box of Jim Beam chips in the shed which I bought last year sometime and thinking about giving it a go. So how do you guys do it. Do you char the chips at all before soaking. Is it safe.
Cheers.

It is definitely safe, given usual sensible precautions such as not smoking, having a gas burner lit or other naked flames nearby etc

Curmudgeon says it straight.
I do this sometimes, without hesitation.
Use common sense and intelligence.

It does work very well.
Rather have a full bottle in front of me

I had totally forgotten this thread.
I would like to add that starting with a whiskey aimed/flavoured brew will help achieve a better finished whiskey than just using a neutral.
Try it.

Re: Nuking Spirits In The Microwave
I now neuk and vigorously shake once a day for
three days. Then strain and bottle on the 4th.
Any more and it seams to go a bit woody.
With the JD try adding a little Maple Syrup on
last neuking Yum Yum
