Merry Christmas tidings and all that ;)

I've been using Allinsons up to now but read lots of positives regarding Fermipan. I bought some off Fleabay for a ridiculous £6 for 500g. At the time it was the cheapest I could find. Not used it yet but plan to next week, so before I do I have a couple of easy questions for you.

1. I currently use 50g Allinsons in my 23ltr Sugar/Kale wash. Would I use a different amount of Fermipan?

2. Cheapest place to buy this stuff as online I have found it very expensive. I can buy a box of ten Allinsons Dried Active from Mozzas or Spazda for about a tenner. ::)

Use the same amount. If you have a hyperama cash and carry near you its about £1.89 at the mo. Easy enough to get a card.

50g of just about any yeast seems about right for me for a 25 litre brew.
I am far too lazy to re-use or grow up yeast.
I am saving pounds not pennies with home distilation.
Just my take on things. :)

A viewpoint I fully concur with. These can be no need to shave pence from the ingredients bill when finished products can represent a saving of many 100's of £'s.

For me the approach has go to be, is this the best I can get, and/or, does it make a difference?

The comparatively miniscule costs of such items as yeasts and nutrients etc., in the overall scheme of things, pales to insignificance compared to what one is actually saving. Trying to cost such items in terms of cost per finished bottle would involve decimal places of pence.

If anything produces an improvement, just go for it. There is no profit margin to maintain, nor VAT or Duty to pay.

A wine, win situation.

Absolutely agree.

Quality comes first and sometimes there is a secret in the numbers that just makes you grin, and excel is just so easy to chop up data.

Maybe I make, and drink too much?
I usually fall asleep and wake up with a grin on my face.
I would rather chop Dates than data, you can ferment dates.
Going off on a tangent, I reckon you could ferment the contents of the home document shredder, with some added sugar.
I never saw the point of composting cardboard.
Fermenting paper seems a step up.
I'll get my coat...

Blimey! I've not even opened the packet yet. Whats all this old tosh about cardboard and data? Someone been at the fores??
