I'm firmly in the love it category.
Do you reckon they just do a single run with limited cuts but still get away with selling it for $100 for 4 litres!!!

The legal implications of working with both the law enforcement agencies and the supposed moonshines themselves, means I'm at a loss as to whether one treats it as a serious but poor documentary programme , or a piece of light entertainment with no basis in fact.
Given the existence of the A.B.C, one might have thought that to actually film genuine moonshiners would have meant being liable for criminal conspiracy charges at the very least. To film both sides, with both sides knowing you were doing so, would seem to stretch credulity to breaking point.
Much of the procedures shown on the part of the moonshiners would seem to be either fabricated or intentionally deceitful. That they willingly expose their identities during the making of the programme would suggest that in reality, no actual illegal operations are really being carried out. Otherwise, all film would have been seized as evidence, and both the film makers and the identified moonshiners would have been prosecuted. The programme makers would have done the work of the A.B.C. for them., whilst implicating themselves at the same time.
As someone interested in distilling, I have seen nothing at all informative in the episodes I watched.

I am tapping this while watching a movie on TV about fighting dragons, "Reign of Fire" 2001, it is bolleaux, but fun.
You suspend disbelief and enjoy it.
I see parallels.
Entertainment mostly.
Forget the money hoped for from the film funder.
Just sayin'
