Making booze taste like breakfast..... It has to be a very slippery slope.....before you know it you will be enjoying red wine on your cornflakes

Re: Bacon vodka (not April 1st and I did not make this up)
I threw in a sausage with the bacon, scaled down the ingredients and refluxed the fat/alcohol mix for a half hour rather than just vapidly shaking it. I now have a lightly chilled 40%abv sixth of a bottle in the fridge, having used the freezer overnight for the separation. It's very transparent, no coloration, looks deceptively like vodka. I'll print a label with "Fried Vodka / Produce of Wikipedia / 2016" in very small letters before I forget what's in the bottle, and wait for visitors.

Just got a breakfast pack from the Co-op (4x flat, 4x pork 4x beef sausage and 4 black pudding slices ), I will through in some bacon so should get plenty of fat for an experiment.
Game for a laugh.

@ Spot; So what does it taste like?
@ Pyro; loving the addition of Black Pudding!
Anyone planning on going the whole way with the addition of baked beans, tinned toms, mushrooms, fried egg, fried slice.
Maybe a kipper on the side?
Robert.

I'm nerving myself up to find out. Every time I look at it there's this sense of breaking a taboo on a par with cannibalism or voting Conservative. Perhaps if I sprinkle a little salt on it.

I spent some time in Denmark. Beer on your cornflakes is not unheard of over there.

I've made this several times, but with my Bourbon-ish product not Vodka. It is excellent! Bacon Bourbon what is not to love?

That there is a waste of perfectly good bacon in my books. I don't soak it in the Bourbon, I much prefer the taste of cooked bacon in my drink. Fry it up crispy, pour the hot oil into a mason jar containing the bourbon. Slap on the lid and shake it silly while eating your bacon. Then put it in the fridge upside down. The next day pour out the Bourbon and filter it and discard the fat.

I'm about to fall for a variation of this. I don't have bacon, but have Irish beef, leek and black pepper sausages calling me to cook them.

I am really hoping those sausages got eaten and only the fat was sacrificed to the drink. They do sound tasty!
